Displays & gestures

How the ward behaves with multiple monitors and trackpad gestures.

Settings live in Settings β†’ Displays & gestures.

Multiple monitors

The ward appears on the display you activate it from (the one under your cursor). Input is locked on every monitor either way.

For the other monitors, choose:

  • Show as-is (default): they stay visible, so you can keep an eye on logs or a second agent.
  • Black out: they go dark while warded.

Plugging and unplugging

Unplugging a monitor never unlocks your Mac. If the warded display disappears, the ward moves to a remaining display, usually the built-in screen, and input stays locked. Plugging a monitor in is handled the same way.

Trackpad gestures

Block system gestures (on by default) suppresses Mission Control, Spaces, and Launchpad swipes while warded. With it off, gestures can switch Spaces over the ward.

Only the current Space is shown behind the glass. Other Spaces can’t be displayed by any app.
